Position Title: Field Applications
Engineer
Position Number: HQ100
JOB SUMMARY
The primary technical resource in the field, charged with the “design-in” of IXYS Power Semiconductor devices into customer systems.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct one-on-one discussions in person, by telephone, and e-mail
with engineers to (a) understand system requirements and (b) explain
how to use IXYS Power Semiconductor devices to satisfy these
requirements. Travel with representatives, distributors and IXYS
personnel to customer accounts to assist and supplement the customer
design effort (electrical and mechanical specifications, application &
layout guidelines, etc). Assist in technical problem resolution from
design through production; determining root cause and resolution.
Conduct technical seminars on the IXYS Semiconductor product portfolio.
As appropriate, write and publish application notes. Provide product
training as applicable to IXYS representatives and distributors in the
assigned territory. Work closely with Area Sales Manager to accomplish
design win goals, new customer development, and growth at existing
customers. Interface with IXYS product design, application, and customer
service, marketing, finance, etc. to successfully influence corporate growth.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
BSEE or equivalent and 5+ years experience, preferably
2+ years in design using power semiconductors and
1+ years FAE
experience. Direct knowledge and experience in power supply design, UPS design,
motor drive circuits design and applications. Knowledge
of inverter technology, alternative energy applications
is a plus. Travel (about 20%-30%) is required.
This
position reports to the Area Sales Manager for
the assigned territory.

Position Title: Programmer/Systems Analyst

JOB SUMMARY
The Programmer/Systems Analyst is responsible for researching, planning, recommending and launching software and systems to meet the organization’s business requirements and to maximize the benefit of IT system investments.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Incumbent must have the skills and ability to perform the following essential job duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Gather and analyze data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements and propose possible solutions to existing and potential systems issues.
- Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues.
- Lead design sessions in prototyping new systems for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow.
- Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
- Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications.
Create system design proposals.
- Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support.
- Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.
- Conduct research on software and hardware products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
- Provide guidance and/or instruction to junior staff members.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- B.A. or B.S. in a related field or commensurate related work experience.
- Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
- Working knowledge of network and PC operating systems.
- Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts.
- Proven experience in the operation and analysis of database hardware, software, and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies and mainframe applications.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
